NEWS RELEASE

CSFT is proud to announce their affiliation with BOLT SCIENCE, LTD in Lancashire, England.
We are now the authorized sales and distribution center for the BOLTCALC, TORQUE, and FASTENER software in the US and Canada.

BOLTCALC is Windows 95, 98, & NT compatible software that will perform a complete joint analysis on concentrically and shear loaded joints using metric or imperial (UNF/UNC) bolts. The program will allow for variations in the bolt clamp force (or preload) due to the tightening method and embeddment due to plastic deformation in the thread and under head/nut bearing surface. It uses published research information to determine the fatigue endurance limits of the thread (rolled or machine cut), the amount of embeddment anticipated in the joint, and the tightening torque for given friction factors. It contains a database of nut factors for various finishes and their inter-relationships. This compilation of data makes it possible to for an engineer to perform checks and calculations on a bolted joint that otherwise could only be completed after extensive research into the subject.

TORQUE is a Windows 95, 98, & NT compatible software that will determine the tightening torque and preload for a given fastener (Metric or Imperial). This program is designed to assist the engineer in the solution of problems related to the torque tightening of threaded fasteners. The program will determine both the tensile stress due to elongation of the bolt, and the torsional stress due to the applied torque. This program can also take into account the effect of prevailing torques when
thread locking patches or mechanical interference fits are introduced into a joint.
TORKSenseTM is a program that is designed to deliver information on the correct tightening torque to be applied to a fastener in the simplest and easiest way. The program can use both metric and inch based units. It is based on determining the torque value using the nut factor, sometimes called 'k' factor, of the material and/or finish on the fastener. It achieves this by allowing the user to view and then select specific information on the material of and finish of the fastener. The program then calculates the torque using this information. The torque units can be converted by the program so that the torque can be displayed in Lbf-ft even though metric thread units are used, if chosen by the user.

FASTENER is designed for use under the Microsoft Windows operating systems (Windows 95, Windows 98 or Windows NT) and provides a means of determining the forces required to strip the internal and external threads of a fastener.
This program is designed to assist the engineer in solving problems, or potential problems, related to the failure of threaded fasteners in an analytical manner. It addresses failures in three major areas; failure through the shank, or threaded section of the fastener, thread stripping of the external threads, or stripping of the internal threads.

TORKSense is a program that is designed to deliver information on the correct tightening torque to be applied to fasteners
in the simplest and easiest way. The program can use both metric and inch based units. It is based on determining the torque value using the nut factor approach. It achieves this by allowing the user to view and then select specific information on the size, material, and finish of the fastener being considered. The program then calculates the tightening torque based upon the data selected. The program will work in both inch and metric units; the torque units can be converted by the program so that if Lbf-ft units are available even though metric sized threads have been selected and vice versa.
